Hydraulic pump flow rate and displacement calculator
Enter the flow rate your system needs and the speed of the motor that will drive the pump; we calculate the required pump displacement, drive power and shaft torque, and show gear pumps of that size.
How is it calculated?
- Displacement V (cm³/rev) = Q (l/min) × 1000 ÷ (n (rpm) × volumetric efficiency)
- Drive power P (kW) = Q (l/min) × p (bar) ÷ (600 × overall efficiency)
- Shaft torque T (Nm) = V (cm³/rev) × p (bar) ÷ (20π × mechanical efficiency); mechanical efficiency = overall efficiency ÷ volumetric efficiency
- The recommended motor is the first standard IEC motor power above the calculated power.
The results are for preliminary selection; check the values in the manufacturer's catalogue and your system's conditions separately.
